Hey people,

A Place To Bury Strangers toured thru Denver last week. The venue was packed and the fog machine was on full-blast. I did my best to take some cool pictures, but cutting through fog isn't easy. Additional photos from the show are on the ArtistRoster Flickr Page.

I recently bought some ear plugs through Amazon. I'm glad I did because A Place To Bury Strangers is one of the loudest acts I've ever heard. If you're going to shows often, do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of ear plugs. The nicer sets reduce damaging decibels while retaining sound quality. Ear plugs range from $.99 to $20 and most venues don't sell them, so order a pair now before you forget. I bought the Hearos brand with stated NRR at 12 decibels. I only bring it up because I care.

Under The Sheets by Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding BUY | Neon Gold

Ellie Goulding is going to be huge. She's been compared to every UK pop starlet out there. I don't hear a resemblance to any of them (which is good). She has an innocence in her voice that draws you in and the sound production by Frankmusik's Starsmith is stellar.
We recommended her back in May when she released Starry Eyed and Guns And Horses (CLICK HERE).

When I'm Small by Phantogram

Phantogram BUY | Amazon

Phantogram's music can be described as a stylish blend of gritty hip hop influenced rhythms combined with psychedelic melodies and hooks. WIth influences ranging from J Dilla to My Bloody Valentine, Phantogram efficiently creates a captivating vibe for their audience. [excerpt from their label,

Ghost Symbol by Zero 7
Swing by Zero 7

Zero 7 BUY | Amazon iconicon

Yeah Ghost from Zero 7 is a follow up to their Grammy Award-nominated 2006 album, The Garden. Their approach is to bring in guest vocalists ranging from José Gonzales, Sia Furler, Tina Dico, Sophie Barker etc. The duo comprised of British producers Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker used to be sound engineers for The Pet Shop Boys and Robert Plant, so they know their way around a studio. They've been performing as Zero 7 since 2001. If you haven't checked out their previous album featuring José Gonzales, please do. The two tracks highlighted in this issue demonstrate the amazing musical range the duo possesses.

Gravitate by Lou Barlow

Lou Barlow BUY | Amazon iconicon

After being kicked out of Dinosaur Jr., Lou Barlow focused his attention on solo efforts including Sebadoh, Sentridoh, and The Folk Implosion. Natural One, from the film Kids is his most recognizable hit. I especially enjoy Gravitate off his new album, Goodnight Unknown. It's got a down and dirty "first-take" feel to it, something that's hard to pull off.

Stones In The Attic and Angel (RAC Mix) by Mr. Little Jeans

Mr. Little JeansMr. Little Jeans is an unsigned Artist for now, so nothing to buy yet. I don't have a lot of info on her, except that she's from Norway, living in London, and recording in L. A. Check out her MySpace for more streaming goodness.
